If ever there was a TV show made for a slots makeover, Squid Game would be high up on the list. The hit TV show, which pits contestants against each other in sadistic and brutal battles, was a massive success story over the pandemic, where Netflix benefitted from masses of increased viewers due to staying-at-home policies enacted around the world.
Now, there is news of a licensing deal between Netflix and gaming company Light & Wonder to produce a slot based on the series, and it is penned to hit casino floors at some point in 2024.
The slot in development is expected to embrace all of the crazy games from the show, including Red Light, Green Light, Tug of War, and the Glass Tile, in the form of bonus round games. There will also be a digital version, which will feature three exciting bonus rounds familiar to fans of the show, and be made available to online players.
Light & Wonder will no doubt be racing to have the slot ready in time for the new season of Squid Game, which is slated to come out next year on Netflix.
